Partnerships in Health (PH)
Partnerships in Health / Partnerstvo za zdravlje (PH) is an NGO registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) with the office located in Sarajevo. Depending on the project activities and job requirements, PH has had branch offices in many cities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Doboj, Banja Luka, Goražde, Mostar, Bihać, Tuzla).
PH is registered as a local association Partnerships in Health/Partnerstvo za zdravlje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to registration as a local entity in B&H, Partnerships in Health was a country office of the Swiss non-government organization Foundation PH Suisse – Partnerships in Health. Local registration was established following the strategic decisions of the HQ office in Switzerland in 2007, and the effective transfer occurred in January 2009, when all programmes, projects, systems, procedures and staff have been transferred to the locally registered Partnerships in Health. This administrative change has not had any adverse effects on the capacity or financial portfolio of the organization. PH is also the legal successor of the Fondation PH Suisse – Partnerships in Health in Bosnia and Herzegovina and it is still closely cooperating with the former HQ office in implementation of part of the regional programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prior to 2005, Fondation PH Suisse – Partnerships in Health, including its country office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, was a part of the Project HOPE network and one of the Project HOPE’s country offices.
PH has its own financial accounting system, personnel and operations policies and guidelines. Each PH employee is recruited under a transparent, publicly advertised selection process. Every employee has to pass a probation period and is subject to an annual performance review process based on a standard, pre-set procedure. PH B&H conducts the financial and operations procedures in accordance with the international accounting guidelines. PH receives an additional technical support for the financial management from the local accounting company C&C on a monthly basis. Individual projects are audited by various audit companies, including PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Auditing, Revic and Merfi, following international accounting and audit guidelines.
